Yamunotri Dham Pilgrimage tour is part of the Chota Char Dham Yatra (Chota means small and Yatra means tour). Chota 4 Dham Tour Package is the pilgrimage package tour of Yamunothi, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

The temple is open from the Akshaya Tritiya day in May and closes on the Yama Dwitiya day, i.e. Second day after the Diwali festival.

Ideal Timing & Seasonal Insights

The temple season typically spans May to October, when access roads and trekking paths become viable after snow melt. Travelling early in the season offers the advantage of fewer crowds and fresh alpine blooms, while later in the season the crisp autumn light makes for spectacular photo-moments.

Preparing for the Trek

There are two trekking routes to this holy place. One route is by trekking 13 kilometers from Hanuman Chatti. The second route is from Janki Chatti, and the distance by this route is around six kilometers. The trekking route passes through many rivers and rivulets. Crossing Ruinsara Tal, a clear water lake at the foot of Mount Kalanag takes you to the holy Shrine.

While much of the route is motor-accessible, the final stretch often involves a 4 to 6 kilometers trek (or pony/palki ride) from Janki Chatti to the temple. Be ready with a sturdy footwear, layered clothing for changing weather and a lightweight backpack. Even for packaged tours, this little trek adds a memorable sense of achievement to the spiritual journey.
