Mukundpur was once home to this rare breed of White big cats. There is a breeding center for white Tigers, which is named after Maharaja Martand Singh. Maharaja Martand Singh spotted the world’s first white Tiger in the forests of Sidhi in 1951 and caught that white Tiger on May 27, 1951, from Bargadi forest. Maharaja brought this white tiger to Govindarh Palace in Rewa and named it Mohan, from where it escaped the very next day. Later on, the same white tiger was found in Mukundpur forests.

Princess Vindhya, the granddaughter of Mohan, reached her hometown, Rewa, on 09-11-2015. Two more white Tigers, Raghu, and Radha, can now be seen at the White Tiger Safari safari zoo at the Mukundpur Forest, Rewa. Royal Bengal Tigers are also seen at Mukundpur Zoo.
