What is the Guru Ghasidas – Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve?
The Guru Ghasidas–Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve (GGTP TR) is a newly-notified protected area in northern Chhattisgarh, India. It combines Guru Ghasidas National Park (formerly known as the Sanjay National Park) and Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary into one vast tiger reserve covering around 2,829 square kilometers.
Guru Ghasidas was the tribal leader belonging ot this area and the Tiger reserve is named after him.

The reserve lies in northern Chhattisgarh, crossing districts like Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Korea, Surajpur, and Balrampur. It’s close to Baikunthpur and Sonhat, with the nearest rail station at Baikunthpur and the nearest airport at Darima, Ambikapur.
