Dugarwadi Falls is a beautiful waterfall on the Godavari River near Nashik in Maharashtra, India. This fall is known for its scenic beauty and pristine surroundings.

The falls is a cascading falls over a rocky cliff. You have to trek or hike some distance through the forest to view the falls. It is advisable that there is a group for people while going to the falls, as it is a forest area.

How to Reach Dugarwadi waterfalls?

Dugarwadi waterfall is around 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Nashik City on Nashik – Trimbakeshwar road. Dugarwadi waterfall distance from Trimbakeshwar is 10 kilometers.

From Thriambakeshwar, share autos are available at the base area near the falls. It is less than 10 kilometers from Thriambakeshwar. A private vehicle parking area is there for those coming by own vehicle. They charge a fee for parking. An entry fee is to be paid at the entry gate.

Falls Trekking

There are two options for you to choose from. You can either go to the hilltop viewpoint or go down to the bottom of the falls. The second option of going down to the bottom of the falls is a little risky and takes a longer time.

The distance to the Dugarwadi Falls hilltop viewpoint is around 2 kilometers from the parking area. It takes less than an hour to trek or hike to the viewpoint. Children can also be taken to the viewpoint.

Trekking to the bottom of the Dugarwadi waterfalls takes around two hours. It may be anywhere between four to six kilometers. You need to cross the stream from the top of the falls on your way to the bottom. Beware of the slippery rocks in this area. You may bathe at the base of the falls, but be aware that water level and force may change suddenly in monsoon. Hence avoid bathing this fall during the monsoon season. It’s not advisable to take small children or aged people to trek to the bottom of the falls.

Remember that it takes double this time to return. Since it is a forest, you must return before it’s dark, say by 5 pm.

Season

The best time to visit the falls is after the onset of the monsoon. There are no restaurants or shops in the nearby areas. Hence, it is advisable to carry water and food.
