Valparai Hill Station is 3500 feet above sea level on the Anamalai Hills of the Western Ghats in the Coimbatore district of Tamilnadu state, India.

The history of this town dates back to the mid-eighteenth century when the area was planted with coffee by Ramasamy Mudaliyar in 1846. W Wintel and Nordan assisted the well-known Planter Carwer Marsh and plated coffee and tea in these hills in 1890. Carwer Marsh is known as “The Father of Anamalais,” his statue is in the Kavarkal Estate, Valparai.
Monkey Falls, Parambikulam Tiger Reserve, Sholayar Dam, and Aliyar Dam are some nearby Valparai tourist places. Monkey Falls is situated on the Anamalai Hills, off the Western Ghats.
Those who like to go for an adventure or looking for nature at its best can go to Aathirapalli Falls near Chalakudi in the nearby Kerala state. This magnificent fall is at a distance of 130 kilometers from this hill station. Road travel through this route is possible only during the day, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The Forest department will record the entry time, and you must complete the journey through the forest road within the specified time. The journey takes up to 4 hours! You are not allowed to stop en route.

How Do I Go to Valparai Hill Station
This hill Station town is at a distance of around 100 kilometers from Coimbatore in Tamilnadu. Pollachi town is at a distance of 65 kilometers from Valparai. It takes around one and a half hours to drive from Pollachi to Valaprai Hills.
This beautiful hill station is connected by Ghat road to other parts of the country. There are 40 hairpin bends on the road to the top of the hills. Aliyar Dam and its catchment areas can be seen from hairpin bend number 9, which is a beautiful sight.
Coimbatore Junction, with railway station code CBE, is the nearest convenient railway station for a tourist to these hills. Coimbatore Airport is the nearest airport to Valparai hill station.
Sirukundra Forest Rest House [2023 Update]
Tamailnadu State Forest Department has renovated the Sirukundra Forest Rest House. It is inside the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, under the Valparai forest range. It is open to the public from January 2023. Sirukundra Rest House is at one of the most picturesque locations near Valparai. It is at Sirukundra, around five kilometers from Valparai town.
The renovated property has three suit rooms for the public. The rates are INR 4,000 onwards. One extra person is allowed after paying INR 1000 extra.
Elephants, sambar, gaur, etc., can normally be seen from this forest rest house. Great hornbill can also be seen here in this area.
Rosewood guest house
Rosewood Guest House is another guest house owned by the Tamilnadu State Forest Department, which is unused now. The Forest Department is planning to renovate this property in the near future.
