Simbalbara park wa earlier known as Simbalbara Wildlife Sanctuary, which was created in 1958. In 1972, it was declared as a wildlife sanctuary. In 2010, it’s area was extended by 8.88 square kilometers and renamed as a National Park with an area of 27.88 square kilometres.

A perennial stream is the lifeline of this nation park. Chittal, Goral, Sambhar, Tiger are found here. Sal (Shorea robusta) and Terminalia tomentosa are the main fauna found here.

The ideal months to visit this National park are October and November. Walking trails are there in the forests .

How Do I Go to Simbalbara National Park?

Palhori village is the nearest vollage, opposite to Simbalbara Park. Simbalbara Forest Rest House is known for its views of the valley. It is connected to Puruwala, another village close to the park. Public bsues are available from these two villages to the national park area.

Ambala cantonment is the nearest railway station at 63 kilometres from Nahan. Chandigarh airport at 87 kilometres distance from Nahan is the closest airport to the park. Dehradun Airport is also not far off from Simbalbara park but has got lesser flight connectivity.
