Polur Narasimha Temple is in the Tiruvannamalai district of Tamilnadu state in India. This Narasimha Temple is also known as Sampath Giri, meaning mountain of wealth. Sampath in Sanskrit (an Indian Language) means Wealth, and Giri means mountain. Poruloor is a Tamil word that means Place of Wealth, which was shortened over a period to become Polur.

Polur temple is also known as Lakshmi Narasimha Swami Malai Kovil, Sampathgiri Swayambhu Arulmugu Lakshmi Narashima Swami Malai Kovil and is popularly known as Perumal hill temple. The main deity is the Swayambu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami or Swayambu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. It faces the south towards Thiruvannamalai temple.
Sage Pulathia Brahma worshipped at this temple. Achutha Thasar, Sri Gnanananda Swamigal, and Siddhar Vittoba had meditated in the Ynai Guhai (Yanai caves) near the temple. Annai Guha, or Annai Cave, is where many spiritual leaders like Hari Das meditated.
Two sunais (water streams) are there on this hill. Brahma Theertham is the stream on the top of the hills. Pulasthiyar Theertham is the stream at the bottom.
A small Anjaneyar temple, alias Anjaneyar Koil, is there at the base of this hill. The deity is Hanuman, and it faces the Swayambu Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, the deity at the Narasimha Temple. You must climb 840 steps to reach this Anjaneyar temple.
Two vultures can be seen that fly around the hill. It is believed that they are the two brothers, Kulasthiyar and Pourshtriya. It is also believed that seven sages still reside on this hill. The devotees constructed this temple after God Narasimhan showed up in their dreams.
There is a Perumal temple below the Sampathgiri Swayambhu Arulmugu Lakshmi Narashima Swami Malai Kovil. The temple priest is the same for both temples.
Thiruvannamalai Arunachala Hill, where the famous Arunachaleswarar Temple or Tiruvannamalai temple is situated, can be seen from the top of the hills near the temple.

This temple town is well connected by roads. It is on National Highway No. 234, connecting Villuparam in Tamilnadu State and Mangalore in Karnataka state. It is at a distance of 33 kilometers from Tiruvannamalai. Vallor is about 48 kilometers distance. Vandavasi town is about 55 kilometers away.
