About Manali
Manali Hill Station is nestled in the Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh in India.
Manali Hill Station is 32 kilometers from Kullu Valley. It is 280 kilometers north of the capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla. The hill station is situated near the end of the valley on the National Highway leading to Leh.
About Manali
Manali is famous for adventure sports like skiing, mountaineering, paragliding, hiking, trekking, rafting, mountain biking, and kayaking. Skiing is a major tourism-related activity at this hill station. The Beas river, with its clear waters, meanders through the town.
Tourist Season
This hill station can be visited throughout the year. In winter, i.e., in December and January, the temperature may drop below the freezing point. Heavy woolen clothes are required during this time of the year.
Domestic tourists come here mainly for honeymoons and mountain views. Foreigners visit the Hill Station for adventure sports.
Peak season is from December 20th to January 10th. Package rates and hotel rates shoot up during that period.
Nearby Tourist Places
Rohtang Pass is the highest point on the Manali-Keylong road. It provides a panoramic view of Himalayan mountains rising far above the clouds, which is truly a breathtaking sight.
Solang Valley offers a view of the snow-capped mountains, the glaciers, and the Himalayan peaks. It has fine ski slopes and many picnic spots.
Rahala Waterfalls is a major tourist attraction at 16 kilometers distance from the hill station.
MANU Temple is about two kilometers away. It is linked to the history of the hill station and is a major tourist attraction. Hadimba Devi Temple alias Hadimba Mandit is another attraction here.
Tibetan monasteries are also a tourist destination.
Kullu Valley is a nearby place approximately 32 kilometers away that has many activities for tourists.
How to Reach Manali Hill Station?
The nearest airport is in Bhuntar, about 50 kilometers distance. The airport is also known as Kullu-Manali Airport.
There are frequent bus services from New Delhi. It takes 12 hours journey from Delhi to Manali.
Chandigarh is the nearest railhead at around 275 kilometers on the broad gauge railway line. On the narrow gauge railhead, Joginder Nagar is 135 kilometers away. The Hill Station can be reached by road from the stations mentioned above.
The state government has a sightseeing package for Manali. You can also book bus tickets and hotel rooms on that website.

There are many hotels in Manali. Holiday Inn, Apple Country Resorts, Ashoka Classic Cottage, Camp Exotica (on Naggar Road), Span Resorts and Spa (at ten kilometers distance on Kullu – Manali Highway), etc., are some hotels and resorts here. Casa Bella Vista is a leading high-end resort among Manali resorts.
