It is believed that a Hindu spiritualist cursed a Treta Yuga king to become a python. This Python lives at Kakolat Falls. It is also believed that Pandavas, the heroes of the great Hindu epic Mahabharata, visited this fall while in exile. On their visit, the accursed king got rid of the curse. The king then proclaimed that anyone who bathed in this waterfall would never be reborn as a snake. This is why devotees bathe in Kakolat Falls.
