Hogenakkal Falls means smocking rocks, and the name is derived from two Kannada words: hoge (meaning fog) and kai (meaning rock). When the gushing waters fall on the rock, it looks like smoke emanating from the rocks.
Hogenakkal Falls are formed by the 14 shimmering streams of river Kaveri that cascade from different heights, ranging from 15 feet to 65 feet. It is one of the dream destinations for any waterfall lover in India.
Boating in coracles (a kind of primitive bowl-shaped boat) made of Bamboo is the main tourist attraction at Hogenakkal Falls (or Hogenakal Falls). These boats can usually carry eight passengers at one time. (Coracles are used mainly in the U.K., Ireland, and some Asian countries.)
