Lalbagh Botanical Garden is situated in Bengaluru Alias  Bangalore (old name), Karnataka state in India.

Lalbagh Garden was the idea of Hyder Ali, the Great King of the Erstwhile princely State of Mysore, completed by his son, the legendary Tipu Sultan, in the 18th century, who conquered many a land and fought the British.

Lal Bagh Botanical Garden conducts an annual flower show that attracts many visitors annually. The Horticultural Society of Mysore arranges the Flower Show during Indian Independence Day (August 15th) and Indian Republic Day (January 26th). Lalbagh Botanical Garden has the most extensive collection of tropical plants in India and is spread across 240 acres of land. How Do I Go to Lalbagh Botanical Garden?


Lal Bagh is well connected by road. The garden is on the leading Bangalore – Hosur Highway, a 10 to 15-minute drive from Madiwala, from where most of the luxury buses now operate.

The newly constructed Shanthi Nagar Bus Stand on BTS Bus Depot Road (off K. H. Road) is hardly 700 meters away from one of the gates of Lalbagh Gardens (opposite road to the Lalbagh Garden Gate), off Hosur Main Road. Outstation buses to Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, etc, now operate from this bus stand, instead of the old Majestic bus stand. Local buses also ply from here.

Vision Cinemas, a famous multiplex theater, was on the K.H. Road, which is now closed due to the expiry of the lease period. Vision Cinemas is looking for new premises to shift its theaters.

Bangalore City Junction Railway Station is the major nearest railway station, and Bengaluru International Airport is the nearest airport.

Lal Bagh Botanical Garden is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. all days of the year.
