About Bison National Park
Bison National Park, also known as Rajbari National Park, lies within the Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary in the state of Tripura, India. Covering an area of about 31.63 square kilometres (12.21 square miles), the park is blessed with serene landscapes, rivulets, water bodies, and lush forests, making it an inviting retreat for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
The park is best known for its population of the Indian Gaur (Bison), after which it is named. These majestic creatures thrive in the bamboo-rich forests of the region. Apart from bison, visitors may encounter a variety of other wildlife such as deer, golden langurs, hoolock gibbons, leopards, wild boars, jungle cats, and langurs. Birdwatchers will also find the park rewarding, as it is home to species like the Indian black drongo, pheasant-tailed jacana, hornbills, tailorbirds, doves, jungle mynas, and white-breasted kingfishers.
The flora here is equally rich, with over 400 species of herbs, 110 species of shrubs, 230 tree species, and 150 climbers, creating a dense green canopy. Seasonal flowers and bamboo forests enhance the natural beauty of the park.

Jeep safaris and guided wildlife tours are available for visitors, offering a chance to spot bison and other wild species up close.

Timings : 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Closed on Fridays).
Entry Fee : A nominal fee is charged for entry and safaris.
Best Time to Visit: The ideal time is November to March, when the weather is pleasant, and animals can be easily spotted around water bodies.
How to Reach
Bison National Park is accessible by road from major towns in Tripura.
Nearest town : Belonia (about 20 km away).
From Agartala : The state capital of Tripura is around 100 km away, and well connected by road.
Visitors can reach Agartala by train, air, or road, and then hire local transport to the park.
