Bandipur National Park, or Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary, is in Karnataka India. It is declared as a tiger reserve under Project Tiger. It is one of the most beautiful animal sanctuaries in India.
Bandipur Park has an area of 900 square kilometers in the Western Ghats and is home to many of India’s endangered species. Kabini, Moyar and Nugu Rivers enrich the park.
Unlike other Wildlife Sanctuaries, there are no human settlements inside the Bandipur National Park.

Elephant Safari is available to tourists here, giving a rare view of the wildlife from the top of this majestic animal. You never know what comes across your safari! This safari may help you to spot some of the good things in life. Overall, there are 20-minute elephant rides to an hour-long elephant safaris.
Bus Safari and Gypsy Safari by the National Park authorities is very popular with tourists to this park. Bus safari costs Rs 650 for adults and Rs 350 for a child. Gypsy safari charges are Rs 300 for adults and Rs 150 for a child. In addition, parking and services of a guide are available at extra charges. The rates are as of Nov 2023 and are subject to change.

Flora and Fauna inside the Park
This Wildlife National Park is rich in flora like teak, rosewood, sandalwood, giant clumping bamboo, etc. It also has many flowering plants, medicinal plants, and fruit-bearing trees and shrubs.
This National Park is rich in Fauna. Rare and endangered species of animals, like tigers, Indian elephants, four-horned antelopes, etc., are there. Many species of mammals and butterflies are also there in this park.
Peafowl, grey jungle fowl, drongos, honey buzzards, Indian vultures, red-headed vultures, changeable hawk eagles, and crested serpent eagles are among the 200 species of birds found in this park.
In addition, Reptile species like Indian rock pythons, vipers, spectacled cobra, muggers, monitor lizards, Indian pond terrapin, Indian chameleon, and flying lizards are also there. Also, many ant species are there in Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary.
How Do I Go Bandipur National Park
Bandipur Tiger Reserve and National Park is around 80 Kilometers from Mysore towards Ooty. Previously, vehicles used to hit a lot of wild animals. Hence, there is a ban on all types of vehicles at night.

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, Mudumalai National Park, and Nagarhole National Park are nearby wildlife sanctuaries to Bandipur National Park. These three parks, together with Bandipur National Park, form the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, the largest such biosphere in India.
