Amboli, an Indian Honeymoon destination, is one of the best Indian honeymoon destinations in India and is part of the Sahyadri hills of Western Ghats. This hill station is situated in the Sindhudurg district of Maharastra state.

There are many waterfalls in this Indian Honeymoon Destination at around 700 meters above sea level. One source of River Krishna originates at Amboli Hills through a cave. There is a Shiva temple right there. Other than the waterfalls, you can go fishing at Hiranya Keshi.

You can also go to the viewpoints, which give a breathtaking view of the valleys. If you are interested in bird watching, take your birdwatching binoculars as many bird species, numbering around 135, are found in this area. Amboli Dam is another tourist spot worth visiting. There is a viewpoint to watch the sunset.

How do I go to Amboli, an Indian Honeymoon Destination?

The nearest railway station is Sawantwadi Road on the Konkan railway line, at around 28 kilometers distance from Amboli. Miraj railway station is the nearest railway station of Indian Railways at 140 kilometers away. [The nearest station is on the Konkan railway and not on the Indian railway). You can hire a cab from the Miraj and go to Lonavala, one of the best honeymoon destinations in Maharastra.

Belgaum is at 64 kilometers distance and has the nearest airport to Amboli.

Belgaum (in Karnataka state) is connected to Sawantwadi by bus. These buses go through Amboli, which is in between the two cities of Belgaum and Sawanthwadi.

Mumbai is around 600 kilometers away, and Pune is around 400 kilometers away. Kohalapur is 110 kilometres away. Goa is around 117 kilometers away.

At Amboli hill station, you can hire a cab or auto-rickshaw and visit different tourist spots. You can also hire a bicycle (or two if you are on a honeymoon trip) and go cycling.
