Nandi Hills, alias Nandidurg, is a famous hill station in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state, India.
Nandi Hills is located close to Nandi town. Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple in Nandi town is a very ancient temple, construction of which was started in the 9th century by the Banas and completed during the Cholas in the 11th century. Hoysalas constructed the marriage hall in the 13th century.
Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple is a two-complex temple, with the first complex having three deities namely the Lord Shiva and his companions Parvati and Nandi. The second complex has a vast and majestic Kalyani pond. Vijayanagar kings built the walls of the second temple complex. This temple is famous for its stone carvings.
Tashk-e-Jannat, the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan can be seen at Nadhi Hills. It has painted walls, artfully crafted ceilings, and high pillars. Intricate archways are a beauty of this place. Tourists can visit this place.

How Do I Go to Nandi Hills?
NH 7, the longest National Highway in India with a length of 2369 kilometers, which runs from Varanasi to Kanyakumari, is the major road connecting the Hills with the rest of India. Devanahalli Town on NH 7 is at a distance of 20 kilometers from the Hills.
The Hills are situated at a distance of 10 kilometers from Chickballapur town. Bengaluru, the capital city of Karnataka state, is approximately 60 kilometers from Nandi Hills.
Watching Sunrise from Nadhi Hills

If you are interested in seeing the sunrise from the top of the hills, reach there at least 15 minutes before sunrise to the base of the hills. From there, you can take the bus tickets to the top of the hills for Rs 25 or so (2023 rate). As mobile phones have signal problems, it is advisable to pay by cash. Otherwise, you may need to walk for 20 to 30 minutes to reach the top of the hills.
