Khajjiar Hill Station – Mini Switzerland

Khajjiar Hill Station is in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh in India. In 1992, this Hill Station was named “Mini Switzerland” by the Vice Counselor and Head of the Chancery of Switzerland in India. Khajjiar, along with 160 other hill stations, has a topographical resemblance to Switzerland.

Khajjiar Hill Station, Mini Switzerland, is 6000 feet above sea level on the Western Himalayan ranges. There is a small lake which is filled with water from a stream. Dense forests cover many parts of this Hill station. There are lush green meadows in this hill station.

You can go for a refreshing walk around the lake or go for a walk in the pine forests of this hill station. Children can scroll down the slopes near the Lake. You can also go horse riding around the lake. For those golf enthusiasts, there is a 9-hole Golf course in Khajjar.

The 12th-century Khajjinag temple is another attraction here. You can view the images of the Pandavas and the Kauravas hanging from the roof of the Khajjinag temple mandapam.

This Hill Station is at a distance of 24 kilometers (around one hour drive) from the nearest hill station town of Dalhousie.

There are only a very limited number of hotels and resorts in Khajjar Hill Station. There are a large number of hotels and resorts on the outskirts of Khajjar Hill Station on your way to Dalhousie Hill Station and at other places in the Chamba district. H.P. Tourism, Forest, and P.W.D. departments run a few hotels in Khajjiar.

“The Devdar” from the Himachal Tourism Department, Hotel Mini Swiss (very near to the bus stand), Deodar Manor (on an Orchard Estate), Hotel Hritik Palace, etc. are some of the hotels in Khajjiar Hill station in Himachal Pradesh.
