This fall is located in the holy river of ‘Pamba’, a sacred river for Hindus, which originates near the very famous Hindu Pilgrimage temple at Sabarimala. It is located in the Western Ghats. Kerala Tourism Department is the agency that is in charge of promoting these falls.

How do I Go to Vechuchira Perunthenaruvi Waterfalls?

These falls are very near to Vechuchira, off Ranni -Vechuchira road. Two to three kilometers drive from the main road takes you to the waterfalls.

The Perunthenaruvi Falls is accessible by Road from Pathanamthitta, Tiruvalla, or from Ranni (23 Kilometers), and other nearby towns. Tirvuvalla, at 43 Kilometers distance, and Chenganoor, at 45 Kilometers distance, are the nearest railway stations on the broad gauge railway network. Cochin International Airport, 145 Kilometers away, is the nearest airport. Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is also almost at the same distance from the Perunthenaruvi Falls.

Where Can I Stay on a Visit to Vechuchira Perunthenaruvi Falls Near Pathanamthitta?

You may stay at Ranni or Pathanamthitta, which are the nearest towns. You may also stay at Tiruvalla, Kozhencherry, or Chenganoor Towns, which are also near the Perunthenaruvi Falls. Ernakulam alias Kochi, Kottayam, Kollam, Allapuzha, or Thiruvananthapuram cities are also within a two to three-hour drive from the falls.

A Word of Caution about Perunthenaruvi Falls

The rocks near the falls are very slippery, and many a life were lost here. In the excitement, most tourists go into this death trap. There is a warning board in this regard at the falls. Unfortunately, many tourists ignore this warning and go bathing near these rocks and fall into the river.
