Kanyakumari, Cape Comorin is an important tourist destination in India. Mahatma Gandhi memorial is a famous tourist destination here.

Three Seas Converge here in Kanyakumari alias Cape Comorin; Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The point the three seas converge is called Thrivenisangamam which means meeting point of three seas. Due to this it is a famous pilgrimage center for Hindus in India. Suchindram temple and Bhagavathy temple are two famous temples in Kanyakumari.

In Kanyakumari, one can see sunrise and sunset on two different Seas. Sunrise can be seen on the Bay of Bengal while Sunset can be seen in the Arabian Sea. You just need to turn to two different sides to see this.

Vivekananda Rock Memorial is the most famous tourist attraction here. It is a Rock island at around 500 meters from mainland, which is connected by ferry service from the mainland. It takes around 10 to 15 minutes boat journey to reach Vivekananda rock memorial. It was built in 1970 in memorial of the Great Indian Spiritual leader, Swami Vivekananda, who swan to this rock and meditated here and attained enlightenment here.

133 feet high, 7000 ton, Tiruvalluvar Statue, at another rock island very close to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial was opened in Januvary 1, 2000. Thiruvalluvar was a Great ancient Tamil poet and saint, who wrote Thirukural, among other poems and literary works.
