Kullu Valley and Kullu Hill Station are in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh state in India, on the high terrains of the Beas River.
Kullu (or Kulu) has a lot of Apples, Pears, and Plum Orchards. There are Deodar and Pine forests in the area. Kulu is also famous for its hand-loom Shawls and caps.

Raghunath Temple, a 17th-century temple, is a famous temple in Kulu. Maha Devi Tirth Temple is another temple on the Kullu-Manali highway, about two kilometers from Kulu Valley. At a distance of ten kilometers is the Bijli Mahadev temple, famous for its artwork, and herein lies the highest point in Kullu, which offers a panoramic view of the valley and surroundings. Devta Narsingh temple ( situated at the Kulu Sultanpur block) and Shringi Rishi Temple- Banjar at 60 kilometers distance are some of the other main temples in and around the valley.
Shoja is another viewpoint at 2692 meters in height, which offers unmemorable views of the meadows, valleys, snow-covered Himalayan peaks, rivers, forests, etc.
Raison is a camping site that offers adventurous activities for those interested.
Kullu is unique for its flora and fauna, with some of the rarest Himalayan species found here. “The Great Himalayan National Park ” is located in this area.

When the whole country stops celebrating Dussehra, Kulu starts its Dussehra celebrations, which attracts a lot of tourists to the valley.
How Do I Go to Kullu?
The airport at Bhuntar, with IATA code KUU, is around ten kilometers from the Kulu valley. New Delhi International Airport is at 480 kilometers distance.
There are no direct trains to the valley and its nearby areas. The nearest railway station is the ‘Joginder Nagar Railway station’, on a narrow gauge line, at around 100 kilometers distance. Chandigarh and Pathankot are the nearest railway stations on the Broad Gauge line, at 235 and 260 kilometers, respectively.
Kullu to Manali distance is around 40 kilometers, and NH3 connects these two cities.

There are many Hotels in and around Kulu. There is a Stone and Wooden Castle of the 16th century at Naggar, now a Heritage hotel run by Himachal Tourism. Hotel Sarvari is a deluxe hotel from the Himachal tourism department in the city.
Prashar Lake
Prashar Lake is approximately 60 kilometers away from Kullu Hill Station. It is in the Mandi district. It is approximately 49 kilometers away from Mandi town.
Sage Parashara is believed to have meditated here on this lakeside. There is a three-storied pagoda-shaped temple close to the Prashar lake, dedicated to the sage Parashara. It was built in the 13th or 14th century by Raja Ban Sen (then King of Mandi). The lake was also named after the sage.
It is believed that Bhima, one of the Pandavas of the Great Epic Mahabharata, created this lake with his elbow! Nobody knows the depth of the lake!
There is a floating island in the lake, that is composed of plant matter in various decomposition stages.
