Srila Prabhupada established this society of Hare Krishna movement or ISKCON, as it is known, in 1967. He went to United States and spread the message of Lord Krishna . He engaged people to chant the holy names of God Krishna, called ‘Hare Krishna Mantra’. ISKCON is not a hobby nor a religion; rather its a way of life to end the sufferings. He made it clear that there should not be any hungry people around 10 kilometers radius of ISCON temple.

ISCON temple and the surrounding cultural complex at Bangalore is situated on a seven acre hillock. The temple complex was inaugurated in 1997 by the then President of India, The cost of this architectural wonder was 32 crores.
