Nagarhole National Park or Rajiv Gandhi National Park

Nagarhole National Park or Rajiv Gandhi National Park (Rajiv Gandhi was the former prime minister of India who was killed in a terrorist attack in early 90’s)  is in the Kodagu District of Karnataka State in India.

37th Project tiger reserve (Project to save Bengal Tigers) in India, Nagarhole National Park is part of Nilgiri biosphere. It is part of the Western Ghats.

The Rajiv Gandhi National Park is very rich in forest cover. There are many streams and waterfalls in the area.

Commercial trees like sandalwood, rosewood, task, silver oak etc. are found in large numbers in the Nagarhole National Park . Some conspicuous tree species such as Flame of the Forest, Golden shower tree and Clumping bamboo are also found in these forests.

There many species of Mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, which include endangered ones, are found in The Rajiv Gandhi National Park
