Char Dham Tour Package to Yamunotri Temple

Yamunotri is the origin of holy river Yamuna. Yamunotri is considered as the seat of Hindu Goddess Yamuna. It is situated at an altitude of 10,804 feet or 3,293 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas.

There are two trekking routes to the holy place. One route is by trekking 13 kilometers from Hanuman Chatti. The second route is from Janki Chatti and the distance by this route is around 6 kilometers. Trekking route passes through many rivers and rivulets. Crossing Ruinsara Tal, a clear water lake at the foot of Mount Kalanag, takes you to the holy Shrine.

Yamunotri temple visit is part of the Chota Char Dham Yatra (Chota means small or and Yatra means tour) . Chota 4 Dham Tour Package is the pilgrimage package tour of Yamunothi, Gangothri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

The temple is open from the Akshaya Tritiya day in May and closes on the Yama Dwitiya day i.e. Second day after the Diwali festival.

How Do I Go to Yamunotri?

Yamunotri is at around 30 kilometers North of Uttarkashi, the district headquarters of the district with the same name. Uttarkashi is well connected other major cites by road and is easily accessible. It takes a full day’s travel from the nearby major cities like Dehradun, Haridwar or Rishikesh.

Dehra Dun Airport is the nearest airport at around 90 kilometers distance. Chandigarh airport is at around 180 kilometers away. Dehradun railway station is the nearest railway station.
