Kiliyur Falls at Yercaud Near Salem

Kiliyur Falls is a beautiful waterfall in Yercaud, near Salem, Tamilnadu state, India. This Falls is part of the Shervaroyan hill ranges of Eastern Ghats.

Kiliyur Falls is formed by the overflowing waters of the Yercaud Lake, situated on top of the Yercaud hill station. The water from the falls fall into Kiliyur Valley and thus got its name “Kiliyur Falls”. This Falls is having a height of 299 feet (91 meters) .

Kiliyur Falls offers breathtaking sight to the tourists, especially during and immediately after the monsoon season, when water levels reach the maximum.

How do I go to Kiliyur Falls?

Kiliyur Falls is at a distance of around 2.5 kilometers from the Yercaud lake, near Salem town in Tamilnadu, India.

Salem is well connected by roads to other parts of the country. “Salem Junction” railway station is the nearest railway station to the falls and it takes around 35 to 40 minutes to reach the falls from the city/railway station.

Even though there is a small airport at Salem with IATA code SXV and ICAO code VOSM, currently there are no commercial flights from this airport. Coimbatore airport is the nearest operation airport .Chennai airport is the nearest major airport to the falls at Yercaud.
