Thoseghar Waterfalls is the largest waterfall in India, situated in Thoseghar village, Maharashtra state.
Thoseghar Waterfalls consists of a series of water falls and the highest waterfall is over 500 meters in height (actual height is 1666 feet), making it the largest fall in India. Thoseghar Waterfalls is a two -tiered waterfall.
There are two viewpoints, which gives a good view of the small falls and the bigger falls. The steps leading to the view points are broad and the whole area is very clean and well maintained. There is a platform for the tourists to watch the falls in its full beauty. You have to buy the entry tickets. Both the viewpoints are accessible from the main gate.
The ideal season to watch the falls is during the Monsoon season. A word of caution, avoid using the platform when it rains heavily.

There are regular buses from Satara. Autos are also available for hire at Satara. To have the best view, one has to go to Chalkewadi (by bus, car, auto, etc,) and then walk down the road, for around 5 kilometers.
