Shirdi Sai Baba,  who expired in 1918, is considered as the incarnation of Lord Krishna by many of his devotees, while some others consider him as the incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. Many devotees believe  him as Satguru.

Sai Baba arrived at Shirdi temple and is regarded as a very popular saint in India. He is work-shipped as God by many people around the world. Lacks of devotes throng the Shirdi temple everyday. He taught love, compassion, forgiveness, charity and helping others among other things.

Sai Baba left no spiritual heirs, nor any disciples, despite requests from his followers.  (Later on, in 1940, late Satya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi proclaimed himself as the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba). Shirdi Sai Baba is reported to have done many miracles. The articles and valuables used by Sai Baba are exhibited in a room .

The main temple is open from 5 am to 10.30 pm  On important festival days, temple is open in the night also. .On every Thursdays ‘Palki’ procession starts at around 9.15 p.m. from Samadhi Mandir to Dwarkamai and then to Chawri.

Photography is strictly prohibited in the temple.

The Shirdi Sai Sansthan provides boarding and lodging facilities. On Thursdays,  large numbers of devotees throng the place, and it may be difficult to get accommodation on that day.

How Do I Go to Shirdi Sai Baba Temple?

The nearest airport to the Shirdi temple is at Nashik, 75 kilometers away. Pune Airport is 230 kilometers away. Mumbai Airport is the nearest airport with international connectivity, at 285  kilometers away.

‘Sainagar Shirdi’ is the nearest railway station to Shirdi. Kopergaon Railway station on Daund-Manmad railway Line is another nearby railway station at 15 kilometers away. Manmad is another major station at around 75 kilometers distance from Shirdi.

Ahmednagar-Manmad Highway passes through Shirdi. Nashik is 75 kilometers away.
