Understand The Background Of Golconda Fort & Kohinoor Diamond

Golconda Fort is a 13th Century mud fort, famous for the Kohinoor diamonds. The fort is situated in Telungana state in India. This  is the place where the Priceless Kohinoor Diamond was found.  Golkonda was the capital of ancient Kingdom of Golkonda.

This magnificent fort is famous for its acoustics design. Sound of hand clapped at the entrance can be heard on the top spot, at a distance of around one kilometer away.

There is a light and sound show at the fort, in the evenings for one hour. The first show begins at 7 pm on all days, from November to February. The second show is held at 8.15 pm on-wards. Telugu show is conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Hindi shows are conducted on other days .

Golconda fort, is at a distance of 11 kilometers west of Hyderabad city. Hyderabad is well connected by train and air services to the rest of the country. There is an International airport at 20 kilometers from Hyderabad city. Twin cites of Hyderabad and Secunderabad are connected to almost all major cities of India.
