Vechuchira Perunthenaruvi Water falls near Pathanamthitta

Perunthenaruvi waterfalls is at a  distance of 8.6 Kilometers from the town Pathanamthitta, in Kerala State, India.

This falls is located in the holy river of ‘Pamba’, a sacred river for Hindus, which originates near to the very famous Hindu Pilgrimage temple at Sabrimala. It is located in the Western Ghats. Kerala tourism department is the agency which is in charge of promoting this falls.

How Do I Go to Vechuchira Perunthenaruvi Waterfalls near Pathanamthitta?

The falls is very near to Vechuchira, off Ranni -Vechuchira road. Two to three kilometers drive from the main road, takes you to the waterfalls.

The Perunthenaruvi water falls is accessible by Road from Pathanamthitta, Tiruvalla or from Ranni (23 Kilometers), other  nearby towns. Tirvuvalla, at 43 Kilometers distance  or Chenganoor, at 45 Kilometers distance  are the nearest railway stations on the broad gauge railway network. Cochin International Airport at 145 Kilometers away is the nearest airport. Thiruvananthapuram International airport also is almost at same distance from the Perunthenaruvi falls.

Where Can I Stay on a Visit to Vechuchira Perunthenaruvi Falls Near Pathanamthitta?

You may stay at Ranni or Pathanamthitta, which are the nearest towns. You may stay also at Tiruvalla, Kozhencherry or Chenganoor Towns, which are also near to the Perunthenaruvi falls; but little away than the first mentioned towns. Ernakulam alias Kochi, Kottayam, Kollam, Allapuzha or Thiruvanthapuram cities are also within two to three hours drive from the falls.

Staying facilities are also available at nearby  Pathanamthitta homestay or at Aranmula home stay.

A Word of Caution about Perunthenaruvi Falls

The rocks near the falls are very much slippery and many a life were lost here. In the excitement, majority of the tourists goes into this death trap. There is a warning board in this regard at the falls. Unfortunately, many tourists ignore this warning and go bathing near these rocks are fell into the river.
